We're staying in a 3 bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment in Soho (253 Elizabeth Street), located above a wine shop.
A plus is that it's located close to everything (including parks, restaurants, shopping) so Astrid and I can walk around the city, and the apartment has a washer & dryer. There's a Whole Foods a block away (which is the largest Whole Foods I've ever seen covering 1 whole NY block and 2 stories).
To get to our apartment you have to go up 3 flights of stairs with no elevator. It's a plus or minus depending on how you look at it. Difficult with a toddler and stroller yes, but also great exercise. I'll just have to leave the stroller downstairs and hope that no one steals it. Astrid is a trooper and since she grew up with stairs (since we live in a 2 story house), it's not a problem for her.
We'll be staying here for a week while U. attends a conference. It's quite warm here (a change from Maine) so t-shirts are the norm and Astrid and I will be spending quite a lot of time outdoors exploring New York City.
