Brusha brusha brusha
Astrid's first toothbrush is a little rubber sleeve with soft, tiny rubber bristles made for babies, that fits over a fingertip. In addition to brushing teeth, the tiny rubber bristles also massage the baby's gums.
Astrid's toothbrush is the blue-green nub to the right of our two adult toothbrushes. Another sign we are a family of 3 now.
Here Astrid is getting her teeth brushed in the morning. She seems to enjoy it but doesn't realize my finger is inside and occasionally bites down on my finger. Thankfully she only has two bottom teeth so it doesn't really hurt (yet!). Reading about rotting teeth in babies was one thing but after Uwe heard a first hand account of a baby whose teeth began to rot because the parents didn't brush the baby's teeth, that did it. Uwe ran out and purchased this baby toothbrush for Astrid from Whole Foods.
Good dental hygiene starts early. =)
