The Eiffel Tower

On the taxi ride from the train station to our apartment, we could see a crowd of people around the Eiffel Tower, and the surrounding park. An iconic symbol of France, families, a park, and ice cream. So you can imagine how it occurred to us that on our first day in Paris we should walk to the Eiffel Tower and spend the afternoon in the park. Bonjour!

Crunch. Crunch. Crunch. This park is a great area to just hang out and enjoy the beautiful day. There were kids in the park, singles reading books, couples picnicking, and lots of families.Astrid getting a ride courtesy of her Papa. Defying gravity.Kid in hand, we're ready to leave.Au revoir!

I haven't visited your blog in FOREVER and imagine my surprise when I come and find Astrid so BIG! I can't believe it! She is so beautiful and smart. It looks like you are having a wonderful family vacation so far. Fooey to those people who say that bringing children on such a long trip is insane! It'll teach her patience and she'll be "well traveled" by the time she is 4 or 5 and learn how to behave on long trips- she'll be the angel sitting quietly in her seat while other parents fuss and fight with their young ones :)
