Astrid is playing with her new walker. The walker comes with 9 blocks in different shapes (circle, square, triangle) that can be sorted through a peek-a-boo door.
It was a Christmas present from my sister-in-law Angie. Thanks Angie! Astrid loves it!I finally got around to washing all of the pieces as everything has a way of ending up in Astrid's mouth. The box lists the developmental benefits as:
Developing motor skills:
*Strengthens fine motor skills with shapes to grasp and sort.
*Enhances balance, coordination & gross motor skills as baby pushes walker.
Encouraging cognitive abilities:
*Helps baby learn to identify & sort shapes and colors.
*Stacking & sorting blocks enhances problem-solving skills.
Promoting social/emotional development:
*Learning to walk encourages independence.
*Developing new skills builds confidence. Within minutes she discovered that the door with the holes flips up. And it rolls back and forth.
"I love my new toy."
"The blocks are especially cool."
"Thank you Aunt Angie!"And she discovered you can wear a block as a nose. Astrid would put a block in her mouth and hold it there while she used her hands to crawl.
And then she discovered that it's light enough for her to pick it up.
And nope, there's nothing underneath it, but she had fun spinning the wheels.
