Another thing I love about staying at the house in Joshua Tree is that our dog is a completely different dog. At home we have to make sure the front door is closed at all times because she will run out into the street and be gone for hours and won't come back until she wants to. I don't know if that's just her personality, or if it comes from being a pound dog. In any case it's happened so many times and she always comes back eventually but we'll never stop being worried that she'll get hurt (i.e., hit by a car).
At the house in Joshua Tree there are no fences around the property, no traffic or paved roads, and we leave the doors open so she's free to roam and come and go as she pleases, but for some reason our dog stays close to us and never runs away. We can even walk with her without a leash and she stays close by, whereas we could never do that in LA. Here's Astrid interacting with her dog. I guess we need to teach her not to poke the dog's eye.Uwe purchased this blow up kiddy pool at Target and Astrid would play in it for 20 minutes at a time. There's lots of artwork and tapestries on the walls in the house that Astrid would admire. Enjoying her week in Joshua Tree and getting one on one time with Papa.Sticking out her tongue and looking cute at meal time.Since they were close to Palm Springs, Uwe couldn't resist going to the outlet mall there to buy some things for Astrid. Before Astrid, Uwe hated shopping, but now he loves buying his daughter clothes. He got her the cutest little 4th of July dress and other cute outfits from OshKosh.
