We've had a lot of interest in our house recently. We were pleasantly surprised, especially since it's during the holidays and not as many people are out looking for houses this time of year.
Today Uwe called while I was at my parents' house to let me know that a prospective buyer wanted to come by to see the house again, this time with his real estate agent. So I rushed home thinking I would be showing the house, but our real estate agent was there to take care of that.
As Astrid and I pulled up to the house we saw Uwe standing outside with the dog. Our real estate agent said it would take about 30 minutes so we decided to take the dog with us and go to The Coffee Table again where we could sit outside, get some hot drinks, soup for Uwe (who is sick with a cold), and wait.
Uwe and I discussed how we have nothing to lose. If we get the amount we wanted we would sell and if we didn't we would stay and remodel our home. It was the being in limbo part that was nerve wracking.
To make a long story short, we accepted an offer on our house and go into Escrow on Monday.
Uwe and I are going to pop open a bottle of champagne tonight and celebrate!

Congratulations!! Woo hoo for selling houses...
I've heard the word escrow before, but what exactly does it mean?
Karissa,
You can go here to read the definition of Escrow.

Congrats! Any idea where you'll be going from here?
Thanks! It would be nice if we could find a house on the west side so that Uwe can have a short commute to work. We're currently looking.
Angie,
Yes, I did enjoy visiting my dad. I saw my mom for a bit in the morning too. I hope they can both come visit you, Bernard & Brazienna in Houston.
