Lunch @ Love Birds

Today we had lunch at Love Birds, a cafe and bakery with an espresso bar on Colorado Blvd. in Pasadena, not too far from The Right Start (the baby store we go to).Since Uwe is a big coffee drinker and we're always looking for nice coffee bars, we wanted to check it out. We originally tried going there on a Sunday but they're closed on Sundays. So today before we went to Right Start, we went to Love Birds for lunch. I had a Thanksgiving turkey sandwich, (it came with stuffing and cranberry sauce) and a strawberry lemonade to drink. Yum! Uwe got the salmon sandwich and a decaf hazelnut latte to drink.

You can see the bakery counter behind us. They also have outdoor seating but there weren't any tables available outside when we got there.Astrid eats her rice cereal like a pro. This was the first time we spoon-fed her out in public. Uwe wanted to feed her today since he doesn't get to do it during the week (b/c he's at work).Astrid delighted with her silly dad.Astrid is VERY interested in what her daddy is eating.Uwe pretending to give Astrid a bite of his salmon sandwich. She would have eaten it too if he would have let her. Kiss #1

While walking back to our car we passed through a shopping center. I thought one of the little shops would have a keepsake baby's first ornament for Astrid so I was looking into the windows when Uwe got my attention.

Uwe: Oh my God did you see that?

Rose: See what?

Uwe: That's the ugliest thing I've ever seen!

Rose: What are you talking about? Where?

Uwe: That pink Christmas tree! You didn't see it?! So here it is. That pink Christmas tree that was displayed in the window of a nail salon.

Paying extra to have fake snow blown onto your Christmas tree is a wee bit strange (although my family did it for many years), but this takes it to a whole new level dontcha think?

Wow, that tree IS really ugly. White one's tend to bother me, but they are nothing compared to that disgusting tree.
