We've been observing Astrid getting better at walking and taking more steps, however her primary mode of transportation is still crawling.

Once Astrid got the hang of crawling she was off and crawling all over, but her walking development is taking a bit longer. She amazes Uwe and I by taking 10 steps, only to drop back down and crawl again. We've been encouraging her by standing at a safe distance and saying "come to mama" or "come to papa" and when she gets to us by walking we clap and give her lots of praise.

Here she is checking out the stairs. Letting her navigate downstairs (and outside) is good for her development because she has more room to walk/crawl around.

If we hold her hands and give her a little support she can walk fairly long distances, but it's still easier for her to crawl to get to where she wants to go.
