New Year's Eve in the park
Our longtime babysitter Jill B. watched Astrid on New Year's Eve, and New Year's morning for us (so U. and I could go out and celebrate the New Year). Astrid cried and cried when we left so I had Jill take Astrid to the park and she took these pics of her there playing on the tire swing.

Astrid at the Farmer's Market (La Canada Flintridge)
Pics from our weekly trip to the Farmer's market in La Canada Flintridge.
The nice Korean lady who runs this produce stand gives me deals and fawns over Astrid, telling me what a beautiful baby she is.
Here she's giving Astrid some washed grapes to eat.
We go through grapes like nobody's business, so I buy in bulk to last through the week. The grapes from the farmer's market last a lot longer than store bought grapes too which helps.
After we've finished our produce shopping, we stop by the tamales stand to take some lunch with us to the park/playground across the street. It's great because we can eat while sitting on the grass (in the shade) and once we're done eating, Astrid can play for an hour before we head back home for her nap.

Mayor's Discovery Park (La Canada Flintridge)
1800 Foothill Blvd.
La CaƱada Flintridge, CA 91011
Located next to the 2 fwy ramp at the Foothill exit.
Astrid saw the other kids playing in the fountain and wanted to go in there as well, but there's a big sign posted that says going in the fountain is prohibited. It's a work of art, plus water and slippery tiles don't make it appropriate (safe) for running and playing in there.
Another family brought their puppy and let Astrid pet it.
It's her size and she wanted to pick it up so badly.
The dog's owner took a photo of us with her dog.
The park has a large lawn and had lots of shade when we were there around 5:30 PM.
We found a watering hole she's allowed to play in.
There's a sandbox here, so I assume the water is for rinsing off the sand before leaving. However, whoever was there before us left the water running for a long time and flooded this corner of the sandbox.
At least Astrid could get her feet wet and play in the water. She was soaked when we left, but she had fun.
