Alpine Village (in Torrance)

We went to Alpine Village today to go to the German market there. The markets has lots of German specialties that you can't find in regular grocery stores - like German pickles, fresh/authentic black forest cherry cake, and German chocolates & candies. The turkey bratwurst ist da bomb!

Every other time I've been to the market, I've only seen Germans working there. But today, everyone working there looked to be Pacific Islanders (like Samoans).

When we walked around, we saw that the restaurant and some other shops, and the bingo that was taking place in the courtyard was also being run by Pacific Islanders. Was Alpine Village recently sold? Or maybe there's a big Pacific Islander population that lives in the area?

Astrid loved riding on the merry go round outside the market. And spotting all of the kitty cats in the courtyard.

They also do an Oktoberfest there with a live um pa pa band. We went one year with friends and I just remember that by the end of the evening people were getting very creative making funny hats out of their huge Styrofoam beer cups.
