Happy Halloween 2007! (Trick or Treating)

This Halloween (Astrid's 3rd) we went back to the neighborhood in Silverlake for trick or treating. They block off the streets so only pedestrians are allowed, and can walk the streets safely. The neighbors go all out with decorations and there are tons of kids.

This year was the first time I think she understood the concept of trick or treating and Halloween in general. It's also the first year she's shown fear of masks (similar to her fear of clowns).

She also LOVED her Veterinarian costume with all it's props. It was too difficult for her to pronounce "Veterinarian" so instead she said, "Animal doctor."


Astrid wanted to look at the jack-o-lanterns we made earlier today, (she would fuss if we moved her away from the window) so U. moved her chair up to the French doors so she would have a good view of them while she ate her dinner.

Astrid's 3rd Halloween costume (Veterinarian)

Halloween's Past:

Her first Halloween Astrid was a skeleton.Her second Halloween Astrid was a little devil.

This Halloween (her 3rd) Astrid will be a Veterinarian. Since she loves animals I thought it was befitting. As soon as she saw her costume she wanted to wear it and play with it.

After Halloween is over and done with she can still play with the accessories: 1) stethoscope, 2) syringe, 3) puppy with bandaged leg, and 3) mask.

Halloween themed play in Gymnastics class (& the high swing)

Potty training is going well. It's day 3 of Astrid wearing underwear and no accidents so far.

We went to gymnastics class today and they had setup a Halloween themed pumpkin bean bag toss for the kids. Astrid also got to swing in the high gymnastics swing that the older kids use. Afterwards there was more jumping on the trampoline. (I keep thinking about getting a trampoline at home since it keeps her entertained for so long.)
