If you don't mind me asking-how do you pronounce your daughter's name? My husband and I are having a heck of a time trying to decide on what to name our daughter who is due in a week! We are thinking about naming her Asta Marielle, but I have been leaning more towards Astrid lately. I know how the A sounds in it, it is the "I" that I don't understand. Okay, so I'm horrible at describing it-but does the i sound like the i in "rid" or does the end sound like "reed". Thank you for any insight you can offer!

Congrats on having a baby on the way. Astrid's name is pronounced with a short "i".
